Montreal for Bachelor Party - F1 Race, etc.
Hey guys,
Going up to Montreal for my bachelor party this weekend. Going to go to F1 Qualifying, unfortunately won't be able to catch the race. Any recommendations for restaurants, etc.? Any specific place I should watch the qualifying other than general admission? Thanks!

I went in '98--it was truly awesome... Schumi was in top form by that time & was the man to beat.
You MUST go to the Barbie Barn--the very best chicken & ribs I've *ever* had. Also, walking around downtown there is great--fantastic ambiance. Lots of action @ turns 1, 2 & 3--also @ the hairpin. The subway will get you to the track & it's fun to walk the track to get different vantage points during free practices, etc. Congrats on the upcoming nuptials, as well! ENJOY!

You absolutely MUST go to Buona Notte. A restaurant that turns into a club. Loaded with groups of guys and girls doing parties, etc.

Turns 1-2 are a hell of a trek to get to if you take the subway. Keep this in mind if the Canadian beer kicks you in the ass the night before!!
I loved being at the hairpin. Close from the subway station. great action, a large viewing screen to see the other sections of track. But, it's also very close to the pits of the support races. When I was there, it was the F430 Challenge. you can walk right up to the pits, and be 5 feet from the cars and drivers. |

Thanks for the advice everyone. I got seats at grandstand 12, right by turns 1-2. It was a HELL of a walk at 10am considering I hadn't gone to sleep until 6:30am, but luckily there was good beer and food along the whole walk.
There were crazy events (and cars) going on ALL weekend, so we were never short of things to do. I did not make it to the above restaurants, but I did make it to Au Pied De Cochon for brunch where we ordered an Ostrich egg with Lobster and Foie Gras....that was pretty ridiculous. I am still struggling from lack of sleep so will post up some more info for any people that happen to find this thread while looking for info on Montreal. Thanks to all for your suggestions!
