E90 exhaust on E92
Anyone know how a Gintani Sport E90 system would look on a E92? Found a great deal on one. From what I know the tips on a E90's are shorter. Was wondering if anyone had pictures of this, or if there are any other issues. Thanks.
This is what it looks like an an E90 Last edited by MattM3SVT; 04-30-2014 at 06:20 PM.. |

I bought a Corsa off an E90 that had tips that looked like that. The guy had custom tips that stuck out more for the diffuser he had. It fit fine on my E93. The E90 is about an inch shorter. So picture those tips an inch shorter on your car.

I had a coupe exhaust on my E90 once (just to see what my test pipes sounded like with my friends OEM mod rear section) and the tips stuck out quite a lot. Going off of that, I'd imagine they'd look noticeably sunken in. Maybe cut and weld on some new tips if the exhaust is really a good deal?

Thanks for all the responses. So from what I can tell they will be pretty sunken in. I'll probably pass and just get an exhaust made for an E92. Saves me the hassle. haha. Thanks again!

In fact, it's close enough to where a CF rear diffuser is enough to make an e92 exhaust on an e90 not look goofy. That said, the sunken tips look is not great and if the exhaust comes out under the bumper, you run the risk of melting the bumper and carbon monoxide at stoplights, etc. |

For the gintani you posted in can't be that bad. I have an e90 and all gintani have couplers that can change the length slightly. My mufflers mouted stick out from the bumper a bit, so I imagine on an e92 they wouldn't be too sunk in and prob just flush w/ the bumper (this is cold; keep in mind the tips will grow in length when warm)

Okay Okay, If the tips are affixed to the exhaust, isn't it the whole exhaust? Word games and semantics.
Bottom line OP, it will be recessed in unless you realign the tips. (which is a pain) Why not just get the right exhaust? |
