Avant Garde Feedback

I was shopping around for wheels, and came across these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/19-Avant-Gar...#ht_6000wt_820

Can anyone give me any feedback on the quality, and price? I dont track or race my M3. The wheels primarly for looks. Let me know what you think!

and if you know any websites/vendors that can beat that price, please let me know! (possibly along with a wheel and tire package as well)

Thanks ///M family,
Anthony

Keep your OEM wheels as they are much higher quality. If you want that look, for $1000 more you can get the real ZCP wheels brand new which is a much better move IMO. You can also find used sets of ZCP wheels and tires in the $2500 range in the for-sale section.

Unfortunately ZCP wheels are only available in silver or black. You could have them custom done in a brushed finish but I wouldn't go that route. I can tell you that I would not recommend to anyone that they spend their money on aftermarket wheels that are lower quality than OEM. If you can't afford a quality wheel made by a brand like BBS, HRE, Volk, Advan, OZ, Forgeline, etc then buy high quality used or save your money and keep your OEM wheels.

A lot of it would depend on how the roads are where you live. If they are decent, you could probably get buy with inexpensive wheels. If there are a lot of potholes and such, inexpensive rims will likely get damaged. Overall, I think AG reputation is they make decent wheels, but they aren't going to be as good as OEM or other more expensive brands.

For what it's worth, I had M359s for about five months, driving on the f'd up streets of San Francisco. I had zero structural issues (bends, cracks or leaks) and the matte black finish was flawless when I sold them.

Garage List
Had M359's and returned them immediately due to bubbles in the finish. I should have known better.

They are a downgrade from OEM. They are one of the better low end wheels though IMO.

I have the M359's in hyper silver on my new E93. Absolutely nothing wrong with mine, they're perfect and look better than the OEM ZCP's IMO.
I did serious research before buying these. I picked mine up via ACM in NJ. They said that they haven't seen any issues with these wheels.
When I was shopping around money wasn't a factor. I didn't see the benefit of buying $5000 wheels for a car I'll never track. These wheels will suit your purpose just fine.
You can't beat these for the money.

Buy the avante gardes because at least you can get them in a more aggressive offset that the stock ZCP wheels come in.
