Unhappy One more bit of evidence that our country is going down the shitter.

This is truly frightning.

**Artical**

Mrs. Merv Grazinski, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, who purchased a new 32-foot Winnebago motor home. On her first trip home, from an OU football game, having driven on to the freeway, she set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the driver's eat to go to the back of the Winnebago to make herself a sandwich Not surprisingly, the motor home left the freeway, crashed and overturned. Also not surprisingly, Mrs. Grazinski sued Winnebago for not putting in the owner's manual that she couldn't actually leave the driver's seat while the cruise control was set. The Oklahoma jury awarded her, are you sitting down?, $1,750,000 PLUS a new motor home.

Winnebago actually changed their manuals as a result of this suit, just in
case Mrs. Grazinski has any relatives who might also buy a motor home.

Are we, as a society, getting more stupid...?

Well I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. How messed up is the country where you must put disclaimers on everything that comes out? How messed up is the country where children can sue their parents?

Some parents deserve to be sued. Haven't you ever seen the royal tenenbaums?

I was raised in a Hispanic family...one time my mom was disciplining me for something I had done (I was about 10 years old at the time). I made the grave mistake of telling my mom that I was going to call DYFS on her. She took the liberty of calling DYFS herself and when they came to our door she began beating me more. She confronted the DYFS representative and told her if she was going to take me away from her (mind you she had a leather belt in her hand).

The DYFS rep. told my mom to have a nice day. I pretty much blanked out for the rest of the day.

Parents have become so weak these days…

Though fake stories like this happen all the time (i.e. McDonalds hot coffee incident) and is why I passed the NY Bar and never planned to practice law.

What do you call every lawyer on earth laying dead at the bottom of the sea: A GREAT START!!!!

These types of stories show us three things:

1) People are fucking retarded and never take responsibility for anything
2) Lawyers will do anything for a buck
3) Sterilization of fucking idiots wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

It's all about re-distribution of wealth in a capitalist society. Instead of sharing equally among all members of the society (by means of free healthcare, etc.), the legal system encourages select individuals to dip into deep pockets and get more than they deserve. The main culprits are enormously expensive healthcare, abnormally developed health and liability insurance, and a feeling that we are entitled to 100% of safety and comfort.

Not a bad idea. If some stupid parents leave a gas stove on and their child is burnt as a result, why should a manufacturer of the child's pajamas pay millions of $$$ to reward the parents' stupidity?
