Yes, another extended warranty thread:)

I figured I would post what I was quoted from the finance manager of my purchasing dealership. In my opinion, these contracts are a bit pricey. I was reassured that dealership has a great relationship with the said companies, and never had an issue with claims from their prior experience.

ALLSTATE - PREMIER CARE (TOP LEVEL)
3 years, 30k miles $100 deductible $5414
3 years, 30k miles $200 deductible $5214

ALLSTATE - PREFERRED CARE (2ND LEVEL)
3 years, 30k miles $100 deductible $5064
3 years, 30k miles $200 deductible $4864

GE 5 STAR (TOP LEVEL)
3 years, 30k miles $100 deductible $5869
3 years, 30k miles $200 deductible $5669

GE 4 STAR PLUS (2ND LEVEL)
3 years, 30k miles $100 deductible $5383
3 years, 30k miles $200 deductible $5183

I have been heavily researching Assurant Premium Protection since their pricing is more competitive.

What are your thoughts on the above quotes?

Looks pricey to me as well. I paid $2k for 4yrs/48k mi with a $250 deductible through the company that works with my credit union. I'd say keep looking.

My credit union might be a good place to look as well. Although I did not buy the my car through them, which may determine if they offer an extended warranty.

Yeah, that's really a lot, I paid $2800 on a 2008 at 58k miles but with EasyCare Warranty, Stated Care level equivalent to Allstate 2nd level via my CU.

I would shop around more,..

Did you buy your car through your credit union? I ask this because even though I did not inquire yet, I'm not sure if my credit union sells extended without an auto loan through them.

Just signed up for Delta Auto Protect. Not much track history - I'll let you guys know how it goes. The sales agent was very forthcoming and went through all of the coverages/exclusions and gave me a great price ($2200 for 4yrs and 60K extra miles, 0 deductible Diamond Premier, with wheel and tire protection and car rental). PM me and I can give you his name and possibly a referral bonus.

Hello Elin,

Since you bought your warranty since 2016

Did you use you warranty?
Do you recommend me buying it from delta?

Thanks,
Zeyad

I sold my car before I could utilize the warranty but I got my money refunded without issue.

I don't have enough experience with them to make a recommendation.
