ED / Welt Warning on front plate.
The guys at the Welt respectfully glue (tape) the front plate instead of drilling holes. I appreciate that. Unfortunately they do not universally do a good job. Here is how the double sided tape was applied to my front plate:
This combined with a bump somewhere in transit resulted in this: Unfortunately for me, I did not learn about the issue till one day after US delivery. Neither the VPC, dealer nor I removed the front plate which was hiding the surprise. Now BMW is reluctant to address as it is unclear who's fault. I am of the position that although we can not prove when and where and who bumped the car. It is clear that the front plate should have simply had the tape extend along the entire width of the plate. ESPECIALLY in the corners. Therefore I am of the opinion that ultimate fault lies with the Welt. Please consider either removing, checking, re-taping the front plate upon ED pickup / drop off.
