Cleaning MOST Fiber Optic Connector

Anyone tried cleaning the MOST Fiber Optic connector to the amp before? Any recommended steps to cleaning?

Won't that leave some sort of residue on the fiber optic?

Canned air and maybe a Q-tip. These fibers are not as finicky as real fiber optic cables used in data transmission which are measured in microns. Lol I once found a cut most in my 335 and used just the outer jacket of a red buttsplice to fix it. I cut both ends with a hot razor blade. These fibers are like little tykes fibers, all thick n shit.

Spray it on a q-tip and carefully clean it, you can use Isopropyl alcohol also.
The MOST connection usually doesn't need maintenance. Just give it a good duster spray so there isn't much dirt/dust.

For the plastic/metal pins, use a spray contact cleaner to keep them from oxidizing.

Thanks all! I had super loud static coming thru the speakers suddenly when the car was parked with door open. I disconnected the amp MOST cable and it went away. Replugged the MOST and no more static, so I thought it might be a dirty MOST or something. Will try out your tips above.
