E92 CSL Bootlid
Hey guys
Im looking to get a csl bootlid for my M3 but have had quite a bit of trouble sourcing one. The australian Seibon dealer has a 6 month wait minimum. Does anyone know where to source one in Australia or is it just from overseas? Also if anyone has one used that theyre willing to part with please PM me. |

Have you tried SouthernBM (https://southernbm.com.au/) in Melbourne?

So i dont know if anyone is interested but ill post it up here regardless. I picked up a CSL trunk in carbon from Aliexpress after a bunch of frustration looking for one from a reputable seller that would ship to Australia for a reasonable price.
It seems that this place is responsible for a bunch of unbranded carbon "style" parts from other places but will update on the quality and fitment when it comes. |

Please do mate. I am interested too. Like you said...Very expensive to buy and then to ship to Australia with inport duties, our weak dollar and taxes it's just not worth it.

So the trunk has arrived. The quality doesnt seem too bad. The carbon part of the boot appears to be made using 2 sections of carbon and you can see the seam but that doesnt bother me too much. I will be taking it to a paint shop in the new year to get painted and fitted and will inform how it is then. Have not had a chance to weight it yet. Will post results when i get a chance.

I had an ECS csl boot lid for less than a year. probably made by the same company.
The challenges I had with it were -getting the tail lights to stop leaking water into the boot. Took a lot of grinding on the carbon. - the trunk lock mounting area on the trunk started fracturing with use, maybe a heavy hand closing it? You Might want to reinforce that area? -insulating it for road noise. It sounded like it's open the whole time your driving it Fit and finish was great though.

So managed to get my first test fit in before i take it to the body shop. The fitment is not the worst. The edges where the tail lights mount are thick as expected so will have to be sanded down. The holes for the wiring clips, trim and some other parts will need to be drilled but overall nothing unexpected. Its heading to the body shop next week. Will update on how it turns out.

Curious to know what the weight difference is - are you thinking of checking? Is it the same approx. 7kgs mentioned earlier?

Sorry completely forgot to do that. The new trunk is around 8kgs without any lights or trim or wiring. I cant really weigh the old trunk but according to rkp it should be around 13kg so roughly a 5kg difference.

HAHAHAHA. Yeah 100%. The csl boot on the E92 has been a goal ever since i had my first E92, a 323i. My wheels are getting powder coated right now and the trunk is getting fitted and painted tomorrow so should be looking real nice very soon. Just gotta lower it, but thats for a bit later.
