New Setup (Wheel/Tire) - Looking for Advice
Car has been put away for the Michigan Winter. The research begins for my wheel/tire upgrade. I am looking for advice/opinions on what direction to go. My budget is quite open but looking to stay fairly reasonable. Mainly daily driven but one or two track days per Summer can occur. Michigan roads can be rough on wheels so that is another factor.
My current setup: Style 220M Front: 19x8.5" ET29 (15mm spacer for ET14 total) with 245/35/19 Tires Rear: 19x9.5" ET23 (12.5mm spacer for ET10.5 total) with 265/35/19 Tires Upgrade Notes: Looking for slightly more aggressive setup but ride comfort and track performance needs to be respected. I would like to move away from the Black Car / Black Wheels. I would like the contrast so planning on a Hyper Silver or Chrome. Hyper Silver is preferred. I was close to ordering the VMR 810s Front: 19x10" ET25 with 275/30/19 Tires (Michelin PS4S) Rear: 19x11" ET25 with 295/30/19 Tires (Michelin PS4S) *No planned spacers but maybe ~5-10mm if needed for proper fitment. Photo for Reference (Note - Very similar setup I have listed above) I like the price, style and build quality of VMR wheels. But I have had a desktop background for a long time (~8 years) that has me second guessing. The few times I am about to go order I look at the desktop background and think "maybe I should keep looking for a deep dish wheel". I have limited knowledge in spec'ing out wheel/tire combos but the past few weeks I have learned a lot. For deep dish wheels I don't know of many options (lack of knowledge). Most recently I have been exploring a Heritage (3-Piece) Okayama. The 3-Piece Deep Dish route will definitely be more expensive. This route would give me piece of mind for Michigan potholes (swap out barrel if required). Struggling with the decision to keep searching for a Deep Dish option or move forward with the ZCP look (i.e. VMR 810). Any comments, suggestions, opinions are appreciated. Replacing a barrel will cost as much if not more than replacing a whole vmr wheel

Thanks for the 810 offer. Ideally, I would start fresh (i.e. no curb rash). I am interested in your price with some pictures. Send me a PM. |

I would do 18" if you plan to track the car. I wouldn't recommend going with a cheap 3-piece. Forged is of course going to give you the best strength to weight ratio (at a higher price). However there are some great flow-formed options. I'm personally a fan of Enkei as a budget option. BBS, Volk and Advan for higher level options.
