Finally hand detailed the car. Foam cannon, two bucket shampoo, Clay bar, sealant and waxed. Bought the car cover (new) on eBay for 100 with shipping.

Thread bump, but the carmax warranty has obviously changed.
I bought my car in 2015. A 2012 with 16K miles. Warranty came from "the warranty group". Was a 5 year 100K mile bumper to bumper warranty with a 50 dollar deductible (regardless of where its fixed. 50 dollar deductible even at a bmw dealer, loaner included) Total cost for the warranty was $2200 bucks. They've fixed things that the dealer claimed would never be covered such as broken dash vents. I've had both throttle actuators replaced, a leak on the mechatronics cover fixed for the DCT, two broken front vents, and a broken rear vent. Covered it all. Easily exceeded the cost of the warranty. Everything you guys have quoted in this thread way different. Different warranty company different deductible policy, different price. The Doug Demuro effect is real it seems. |

Your car still probably had some manufacturer warranty left in 2015 as a 2012 model with only 16k miles and being only 3 years old. If you research current CarMax Maxcare prices on newer M3/M4's, they are pretty cheap as well. |

Someone mentioned that the warranty is now from CNA national. As I mentioned my warranty ultimately came from a place called "the warranty group" so it seems like the warranty company backing maxcare has changed. If you try to go to www.thewarrantygroup.com it now redirects to assurant implying that maybe the company was bought. The deductible policy has also changed from what people are reporting currently. I get no discount on my deductible if I bring it to carmax or not. If the company backing the warranty and deductible policy has changed, it certainly seems possible that the price of the warranties has also changed as others are saying. |
