HANS device - why not the Schroth Quick Fit?

Well, I guess I purchased my harness without enough review because I purchased the Schroth Quick Fit rather than the Quick Fit Pro.

Lots of discussion on this topic but I don't see this addressed. Schroth's website describes the Quick Fit as incompatible with the HANS device or other neck restraints, directing purchasers to get the modestly more expensive Quick Fit Pro. Curious if anyone is running a HANS device with the Quick Fit or if the reason for the stated incompatibility is known? It appears to me that the harness geometry is nearly identical - figure someone most have tried the not recommended combo.

i wonder if it's because the pro has all 4 straps go into a single lock which keeps them toward the center of your body. maybe the non-pro risks slipping off the hans rails in an accident?

pure conjecture though.

I have both models and it’s the only difference between the two.

I've seen both the driver and passenger inside belt of Quick Fits attached to a single, very weak looking point on an Audi TT. I wouldn't use safety equipment in a manner that isn't explicitly approved.

As for the differences, I think the Quick Fit has a wider strap that will not fit a HANS device and it allows for some stretching like a regular seat belt. The lock buckle is also different.

The Quick Fit Pro has a thinner belt strap that will fit a HANS device, with a push release lock, and little stretching of the belt for "anti-submarining."

The Quick Fit harness would not be allowed at events with organizers (PCA if I remember correctly) that require a HANS device be used with four or more point harnesses.
