Newb Detail Question

Does anyone have any suggestions on an orbital polisher to get? Was thinking of getting Meguiar's G110v2 Pro Dual Action Polisher or maybe a grigots / Porter.. Also, any suggestions on Pads to pick up with the polisher? FYI I will be polishing / waxing silver and black cars... Appreciate the help everyone.

I have a silver and my wife has a blk saph metallic E60 so youre like me.
Some of the pros on this forum will give you better insight but I've heard good things about PC7424, the Griots' polisher and the Flex. I recently ordered a Flex because I wanted an orbital to add to the rotary I use.
I almost went with the PC but I think the Flex works a little faster to cover the same area and corrects somewhat more aggressively. however, it is more expensive than the PC.

I think I am going with the Grigots from everything I have read. Two more questions, what pads would everyone recommend for putting on wax? As for the wax I plan to use it will either be Klass or Wolfgang...thoughts? Should I get another type?

I ended up going with the griots..thanks everyone for the help...One last question for you all, what sealant and wax combo would you suggest for a new jerez black car (looking for shine & Protection)? Thoughts on Tire Sealants?

If you are polishing it, nothing really adds to the finish. I rather you spend more money on polishing.

That aside, as a wax whore, I would suggest Victoria wax concours for black. For sealants, maybe Colly 845 for the durability?

If money is not too much of an issue. Go for Zymol Glasur for black.

Tire sealants I'd go for Tropic-care White Pearl.

Would you recommend polishing a new car? If the dealer is not prepping it and hopefully it looks to be in okay shape?

How do you Vic's? I heard its a bear to get off but I love the looks of it. Also I believe Showroom FX now carries the White Pearl, I cant wait to try that, got it in my cart right now.

Griot G6, check out autopia.org

they got a ton of details there and there is even a thread on comparing PC7424, G6, and the Meguiar's G110v2 . People are saying hands down the G6 is awesome, has more power, less vibration and a ton more. I hear griots warranty beats all the rest as well.

I just ordered mine and cant with to get it.

Definitely polish a new car. Most likely it needs at least a light polish, if not something more aggressive in spots (you'll have to evaluate yourself). Be sure to strip the paint (with one of the Chemical Guys Citrus Washes, or even Dawn) and clay it before polishing, of course. You'll be surprised at how much crap is on the exterior of brand new cars. Then finish with a good sealant and/or wax.

Vic red looks better in black I think. I tried that on my white car, and the carbon fibre roof. In short, the roof looked a lot better. It's not bad on white or lighter colors though, it's just not as good as other lsp that I have, considering I have close to 10 lsp's that are famous for lighter colors. So for the price, Vic red is still VERY good wax.

I have a AW 328xi

(until I find an M3) Last weekend I used some DODO Juice Rainforest Rub and it looked outstanding, you might want to give it a shot, try out a sample pot!!! I put it on with my hands(no applicator) and it was a blast to apply and remove. I topped it with Optimum Instant detailer(OID) and the paint was glowing!!!
