M3 no crank no start
Hi,
2011 E93 M3 I ran into an issue one night when I was driving my car on WOT my car died so I pulled over cleared codes and started it again, at the time I got a throttle actuator code, after I cleared it everything ran fine. After clearing the code I gave it some gas since I had to merge on the highway and car this time around revved up and all of a sudden died. I wasnt able to reset the codes and continue, I got the codes 2AFE 2B14 2B35 2716 2717 2718 2719 2739 275F AND A BUNCH OF OTHER CODES. I replaced the throttle actuators on both sides( please note this is the second time I replaced the actuators within 10k miles of ownership). When I removed the old actuators it looked like they were bother pretty warn out. The one side barely went back to the starting point. After trying to start the car the car would only crank and not start. I went over the fuse box pulled and check a couple of fuses and now the car wont crank or start at all. Below are the codes that Im getting, I order an engine grounding strap and brake pedal switch. Anyone have any ideas? Hey mate,
Take this with a grain of salt, but from what I’ve read about BMW car, and having owned a couple BMW motorbikes, they are very sensitive to voltage / battery issues. Assume you’ve checked battery terminals and all clean and tight? Could your battery be on the way out? Can you get your hands on another to check temporarily? |

I just replaced the battery with an new one and swapped out the ground strap as well. Digging deeper my code reader doesn’t communicate with the egs or the dsc modules. I went in a replaced a couple fuses in the fuse box as well. What other location can I look at for fuses in regards to the transmission and dsc?

I was able to fix the problem by removing the fuse box will still hooked up I then went and wiggled/seated the wires on the back of the fuse box with my one hand and with the other I pushed in the fuses. This solved my issue right away.
My conclusion is that when I was trying to diagnose what was wrong with the car and checking fuses there must have been some play in the harness or the fuse. Either way after pushing from both sides the problem was fixed. |
