H&R Sport vs Competition Springs
Leaving the stock springs in the rear. Before and after, H&R settled sport springs vs Comp package springs in the front. Looks like maybe 1/2” drop.

How does the H&R ride compare to the comp springs? Did you replace anything else in the suspension (e.g., bumpstops)?
I have the same H&R springs on my 2011 comp sedan. They were already on the car when I got it. Ride is quite bumpy on not so great roads. |

I didn’t really notice a difference. I squeezed these coils by hand to get the top perch on, they’re not very stiff.
Then again I drove with 550lb coils in the front of my Vette as a DD for years. So the M3 is basically a Cadillac by my standards. I read about people changing the bump stops, but I see no call for it. First, bump stops are usually measured at a certain height to prevent contact/damage elsewhere. Second, the ride height is almost the same as the comp springs but the H&Rs are stiffer, so there will be less compression/ movement. Third, it looked like there is about 4” of travel before hitting the stops, and I don’t plan to take the M3 to Glamis, so I’m in no great need for more travel. Ok ya I noticed a bit more firmness today. Still a nice ride. Just noticeable on beaten roads, and less bobbing when you pop the clutch. Feels more like a sports car, I like it.
