Break Pad issue

I am installing Perodo ds2500 brake pads. I noticed that the OEM pads have a weight or stop at the top of the pads. The ds2500 does not. Is this normal. Should I use them or send them back?

Ferodo not Perodo. Anyway here is a pic with the portion of the pad in question.
