Take it to a local surf shop. They can epoxy that and sand her down just like with surfboards. Back on the road in no time brah.

@redpriest - how did you end up fixing your roof? did a body shop do it, and if so, which one?

I have a similar spot on my roof but the damaged area is smaller and doesn't look like it's as deep through the clear coat. I called Mountain View BMW, got in touch with their body shop and they said there's no BMW repair kit and promptly informed me that a new roof would be about $4K in parts and labor

A few body shops I talked to in the South Bay wouldn't touch it and told me to go through the dealer and/or my insurance.

I'm curious if there's a Bay Area shop that's willing to take the simple approach with this (sand / resin / clear coat / polish) instead of recommending a new roof.

I'm looking for a place to re-clear my cf roof in the Bay Area also, where did everyone end up going?

You'll likely get more answers if you ask this question in the Northern California regional forum.

Short answer: find the body shops that are certified to work on exotics. They will likely have experience dealing with carbon fibre.

I had posted there as well. I am looking at www.tandtautobody.com at this time. Will stop by there next week.
