Sound a bit hight IMO! I have House, Car, House Hold Goods, Banking and Life Insurance with them! Like any other Insurance Company the more you have with them the cheaper i'll be. How many miles does your M has on it? I know that BMWNA will allow you to buy the extended warranty up to10,000 past the Factory one. How much is BMW quoting you?

We have USAA, but that seems awfully high.

Have you checked out BMW's warranty program?

When i bought my 08 M3 a few months ago, i purchased the 48 month extended warranty that USAA offers, it only cost me about 5k. So 7k sounds a little high to me.

I just purchased the USAA extended warranty for 60 months or 75000 miles. Paid 2K. I never buy the extended warranty, but after I had some issues with my out of warranty X5, I realized it's worth it for the peace of mind. Plus, BMW repairs aren't cheap.

I figure the M3 being as high strung as it is, might get really expensive fast, especially if you have engine or transmission problems.

I hear you. That's 60 months, as in, until the car is 60 months from its service entry date, right? In other words, 12 months more than the factory warranty?

60 months additional from when you purchase the extended warranty or 75k total miles, which ever comes first. I bought it at the end of my manufacturer's warranty, so my car would be covered for a total of 9 years. But I'd hit that 75k mile limit first I think.

$1826 for the 48 month/60K extended vehicle protection plan from USAA for me. I don't drive it much so I expect to hit the 48months before hitting 60K. Knock on wood, haven't used it yet. I probebly just jinksed my self now.

I recently purchased my 2011 E90 M3 and am a long time USAA customer. I financed through them and also purchased their extended warranty. Since my car had less than 12,000 miles, it was ~2,100 for a 60 month (from my purchase date) or 100,000 miles on the odometer. The price seems to be based on how much mileage is already on a car from what the USAA rep told me.

USAA is only for military, right? Originally, that wasn't clear to me but, according to their website, that seems to be the case.

Please confirm. TIA

Yes but some relatives of military members are also eligible. My father-in-law was in the Navy, so my wife and I get insurance and banking services from them now. I don't know how far the relationship rules stretch.

I checked and if you're USAA member-eligible you can buy the warranty without financing the car there.

Ah, OK. My dad is now deceased. However, he did serve as a Marine while he was alive. So, given the USAA relative policy, I'll have to look into whether I might qualify. Sounds like I would. Thx, Guys!
