Hurd? LOL

The most popular options are Powerchip, ESS, AA, Gintani and Dinan. Use the search function, read up on them and just pick the one you like. Good luck.

My guess is that you'll most likely keep stock since you're too lazy to tune.

define best tune?? what are your goals?? most power?? safest?? least warranty problems? do some searches tons of info on here

whatever you do though for the love of God don't let any tune company put there sticker on your ecu if your sending it out etc or when you bring your car to BMW you can kiss your warranty goodbye. don't know if places are still doing that but they were at one point

me personally i love my dinan software. don't have to take my ecu out just drive in get it installed and drive out. it is also in there database so when the idiot dealer flashes it back to stock dinan puts it back in for free for me.

Happy with my Dinan tune also.

Dinan put their own sticker of sorts on their tune - raising the rev limiter to 8600RPM. If you are worried about BMW detecting a tune, this is one of the tell tale signs.

Good point, but at least Dinan will cover you with their warranty.
The Dinan tune is probably the most conservative tune out there also.

I'd do Gintani. They really know what's up over there when it comes to tuning/SC/exhausts.

The problem with this question is people usually don't get one tune, then the next day, get another. Throw in the fact everyone's car performs differently and it's hard to tell, especially with all the different brand mods and different dyno/methods.

I have the Powerchip tune and Matt has been a cool guy to deal with. Something as simple as someone who's friendly makes a big difference in how you walk away from a service/sale. After Matt tuned my car he gave me his direct cell phone # and said give him a call if I need anything. Props.

My car might make more horsepower with an ESS tune, maybe Gintani, Dinan.., maybe less, but Powerchip is local to me. About 15 minutes away. Also just because one tune is making more power, it might also be running the engine more at it's limit. You'll have to ask questions like how they handle reflashes if for any reason you need it, how do they handle upgrades, their tuning philosophy (reliability over squeezing more power), locality, amount of experience they've had, stuff like that..

As far as personal experience with just Powerchip. I'm very pleased. They had a banging deal at MFest. Customer service has been great pre and post sale. The car runs noticeably stronger. I heard my car chirp 3rd gear in S6 mode with traction control off. The check engine light turns on when turning on the car like it is supposed to do and I'm told the tune is undetectable by dealers.

I'd like to dyno my car soon to see where I stand. Will post it if I ever get around to it.

lmao ok if you want to count that as a sticker sure. tell me this then why has my car been to the dealer 3 times and they know about my software and i still have full warranty?? Dinan has full backing from BMW. if you had to roll into a dealer with a mod company software in your car and fear for your warranty i would be the least scared with the Dinan

big difference btw safely raising the rev limiter like they do and have done for years and years with never a problem and putting a sticker on someones ECU so the poor guy had his warranty voided. and i won't name companies either to avoid drama
