CSF to Do88 transition...
So I have all the CSF goods for years now but...
Once temps outside are hot...transmission gets laggy after a few laps. My buddy David Eaton of EATON MOTORSPORTS swears on his E92 never had a laggy down shift or up shift with his Do88 rads. Was at the Glen few days ago, after 5th lap... laggggggy tranny while in manual mode. I'm over this. Any one can chime in? |

I think radiators in general don't make a huge difference, but the do88 DCT radiator is very different than OEM and proven to make a difference
Lots of people have 'never had problems' but their use cases are different than yours. That's what makes apples to apples comparisons so hard. What I can say is we've posted the 2:04 WGI video with a full weight E90 M3 with no aero and BFG R1 tires. It's a full 25 min session. The DCT worked perfectly without any lag or any other issues. do88 full radiator kit, slonik dct pan overfilled. Would the DCT start having issues at 2:02 or something? Perhaps. But so far, none.

I would just upgrade the DCT cooler. Do you have a larger DCT pan? The other radiators between CSF and do88 are quite similar and wouldn't help with DCT overheating so it would be a waste to swap all of them out, unless you're having other overheating issues?
I've been very happy with my full CSF kit thus far. But, my car is manual and I run in a milder climate - but so far 0 issues with overheating. |

So far, with the DCT with the do88 cooler and the slonik pan completely full we have never had a double-shift or shift lag in the E90. We used to double-track it, so after going out in PCA red group (fastest) it would go out again in the black group (second fastest).
The CS in comparison which is completely stock engine/tranny wise will not overheat, but the DCT will definitely lag. Not only due to temp, but also when cornering/braking

Just go do88. Proven cooler. Why not keep all temps down if possible? Do it!!!!!

Regarding that stroked E90. Sounds very good...if that driver was flat up the Esse's, broke later on the back straight he'd be 2:02's. If he ran Aero. Would be Sub 2's hands down. |

Sytshadow & dogbone have data. All you need to know is they dont have overheating problems. That’s enough to know that the do88 cooler & slonik pan combo is the best you cam have for dct.

Did you perform the "fluid level check" of running the engine at 2k RPM for a minute or just add all the fluid you could and closed it back up? |
