And really the thing about it you guys all know what i am referring to. This is not the first time we see newer cars slower than previous cars, but for the purpose of deceiving yourselves you try to ignore that fact.

But hey the real reason i started this thread was actually because i watch some video of some modded M3 to like 700+ HP and heard them say something like 0-60 in 4.1 seconds and i was like WTF!

So again i checked BMW official time and i was flabbergasted as well.
Just stop posting troll. The BMW official time is slower for the E46 than the E92. No one is ignoring your "official" time but you are ignoring your own data and all other relevant data. It is funny how all published, tested time proves the exact opposite of your position but you ignore it yourself.

Just put down the laptop, slowly walk away and stop hurting our brains with your nonsense.

I just did it again... wasted time and brain cells on this stupid thread... I need to be

About to get the E46 M3 (used) in about 2 weeks, but holding off mainly because of a disappointing slow 0-60. Still thinking about it as of right now.

Wish i can afford the 2011 GTR instead...still searching for name+speed combo..911 is definitely out of it with price

Clearly ANY generation of M3 is NOT for you. If the e46 M3 has such "a disappointing slow 0-60" why still consider buying one or are you trying to justify your purchase by convincing yourself it's quicker than an e92 M3 (which is not true)?

Kids a moron. Traction, tires, and weather all play a big role. Half a second + is a pretty decent margin for a 0-60 time. GTR is awd with a crazy launch control and underrated specs, it'd be a shame if it didn't put down the numbers it did. Btw, I rant a 4.1 0-60 on my stock M3 using a meter thing.

This is a .pdf of Car and Driver's recent review against the CTS-V Coupe. The E92 M3 in this test has M-DCT, but gets to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds...

Another E9x M3 but with a 6-spd manual: http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...-bmw-m3-page-3 This test showed the M3 to get to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds.

An excerpt from the E90 M3 article: "The M3 blasted to 60 in 4.1 seconds, 0.3 second quicker than the Lexus and 0.1 quicker than the M3 coupe we tested last December, a surprising outcome since this sedan, which is not available with the coupe’s carbon-fiber roof, was 109 pounds heavier."

E46 M3: http://www.caranddriver.com/features...-bmw-m3-page-4

An excerpt from the E46 M3 story: "Performance is strong—back in the day, we recorded 0-to-60-mph times in the range of 4.5 to 4.8 seconds—and the inline six-cylinder engine is both willing and sonorous."

Now will you please shut the F up and get it in your head that we're not spitting crap at you. We know what these cars can do, because while some of us have actually done these numbers, others of us have read every damn article there is to read about any M3 and know all capabilities and limitations.

Now can someone please tell me what was the 0-60 of the BMW M3 E46 ?
Here is something to help you incase you feel lazy
http://www.zeroto60times.com/BMW-Bim...mph-Times.html

Now can someone be the judge here?
What is the point of M3 is i supposedly don't get the point?
Car companies almost always post lower, more attainable 0-60 and 1/4 mile times as "official" times. If you've driven an M3, you'd know that 4.6 seconds is about what you'd do if you missed the shift from 1st to 2nd,

I measured 4.0s flat with my traqmate. I have M-DCT and I was using launch control in my e90.

Its sad to think that even with 570hp and a perfect launch, my 0-60 still comes in slower than that of a stock E92 DCT.

A "name+speed" combo? So basically you want to show off your awesome brand name speed machine? What does that prove? Does it prove that you have money and can show the world? Or does it show people that you can street race with the best?

Gosh, how old are you? Are you even old enough to drive? This isn't a video game you know.

I think this sums it um best when comparing the E46 to the E9x(both of which I owned):

"Roughly a half-second has been lopped off the previous M3's time to 60 mph, and owing to the massive increase in horsepower, 150 mph arrives 8.4 seconds sooner than it used to." CARANDDRIVER
