I got that quote from Pacific BMW and Beverly Hills Bmw is who actually did the job for me at $500. I used to work with Dan Hoff although he's no longer there.

Remember , good work ain’t cheap , and cheap work ain’t good . I’ve had a few things painted by Sterling Collision and they have always done a good job . Color match was perfect on hard to match metallic paints . Maybe why they are one of the very few body shops approved by Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Mclaren and so on . I’m not saying you have to only use this place , just saying don’t cheap out on paint or you will be doing it again in a couple years .

C&C Collision in Alhambra. Will be around $1000 for a respray. Their color matching is second to none.

Do a search on C&C. You'll read a lot of great things.

When I needed a front respray, I did exactly what you are considering. Back then EAS had the EU bumpers in stock. Picked it up and brought it to C&C for painting. Turnaround was about 3 days. They explained there's about a dozen shades of Space Grey Metallic for color matching.

You'll be able to sell your old front bumper on here. Even though it got beaten up after removing the CF splitters that were attached with betalink adhesive, a track junkie bought it for a few hundred $.

EAS also sends people to C&C if you want flawless work. Many on here are aware of the C&C $ premium.

It's not true that good work isn't cheap, definitely not in Los Angeles. It's competitive as hell.

This is true. When people say good work isn't cheap and cheap work isn't good, while that applies to some extent, in the Autobody industry it's not entirely true. The reason there's such high quotes from certain shops is because those shops tend to only do larger jobs and bumper resprays aren't something they want to spend time on so they mark it up. Other shops that specialize in smaller body part resprays will do the same exact job, same quality for a fraction of the price since that's their main source of work. Just do your research and look at reviews, you can get a great paint job for a great price.

IMO it doesn't make much sense to pay a lot for a bumper respray anyways. I'm on stock ZCP suspension and I scrape once a week in parking lots, it's unavoidable.

As far as paint matching goes, both of my E9x cars have had slight differences in panel color depending on if it was a metal or plastic panel. Bumpers / front fenders have ended up a little different than their nearby metal panels from the factory.

Lots of Giffen goods in the automative market. Raising the price attracts a certain kind of car owner that attaches credibility to high prices.

I completely agree with this post. C&C did amazing work for me on a daily driver VW. Paint and texture were matched perfectly. Very professional group.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
