Went from 335is to an M3
335 is a very very good BMW if the M3 never existed!

As to which one is more fun depends on the kind of driving you do!
City driving in traffic, 335 is better because of more torque on lower rpms.
M3 is significantly more fun if you are able to rev it out all the time, it's designed to shine when in higher rpm.

M3 is better in every way. So what you lose some low end torque for driving around slow in traffic. The exhaust note from the s65 makes all that a distant memory.

As stated before, no one has upgraded to a 335i.... from an E9X M3.

Loved my FBO 335i but with my M3 I forgot I ever owned it. To me, this is an absolute no brainer, no question. It’s the total driving experience that blows me away every single time I get behind the wheel. Every time.

The e9x M3 isn't flawless but it's definitely better in almost every way. Our 335 was stock, but definitely slower IMO than a stock M3 of the same era. I'm sure tuned it can be faster, but doesn't matter, still not as good.
I thought the interior was basically the same except steering wheel and center?
That's wishful thinking on your part, it's proper leather in the M3, not cardboard.

Yep the Novillo is lovely. Very fragile compared with the Dakota thought!

If you pull up to a stop light and in front of you there's an E92 M3 sitting next to a 335i, which grabs your attention?

While that same 335i could pull ahead from the M3, will you care? Or will you listen as 8 individual throttle bodies consume the atmosphere and blast a siren song from its quad trumpets all the way to 8400 RPM.

The M3 will take some getting used to. You'll have to learn the torque curve, the steering feel, and the gearing. You'll have to put in the work to understand how it's engineered to reach its full potential. The 335 is easy to get in, press the pedal and with gobs of torque you're off. The M3 requires a proper warm up, the right suspension, engine, and gear settings. To drive one is an experience, and an incredible one at that.

Put in the effort, and you will enjoy it far more than your 335. I am certain you will never look back.

Honestly I had a fbo 335i and yes it felt quicker out of the hole but as soon as you crest 5000rpm it fell flat on its face... my butt dyno tells me both cars are nearly identical in 0-100 times and my m3 is bone stock

And yes the car literally drives a million times better than the 335, down to the steering feel, suspension, turn in.. Ahh the m3 is just amazing

Nope, much much better quality leather and more of it throughout the cabin. Anthracite headliner vs the ugly beige one in normal 3er. Steering wheel is better, seats have more bolstering, additional configurable driving dynamic buttons. Individual audio but that may be an option on regular 3ers.. much cooler instrument cluster.

There are more but that's what immediately comes to mind.
