Code 279D - Any suggestions
I have a 09' M3 6MT 31K miles.
No CEL but when I randomly check for codes I always get a 279D. With my BPM software I get a brief description of power management battery closed-circuit violation when I check the codes with BMWlogger I get Cooling Fan Final Stage. I always clear the code but it always returns. I don't experience any symptoms with the car and again it doesn't throw a CEL. This code has been there since I first purchased the car a year ago. Any suggestions as to what this is? |

I got the same code recently due to my dash cam. Never had it before until recently. Uninstalled it and it and no more codes. I'm betting you have excess battery draw somewhere the computer doesn't like.

I then disconnected my iPod thinking that may be it. Nope I do seem to remember randomly walking past my car at night a few times after it has been off for hours and see the orange square in the cluster somewhat lit up. No idea where to begin looking into that. |

I have this same code despite clearing it multiple times! It only appeared recently. But nothing has been changed recently. So I'm rather baffled. its annoying that its either a fan issue, which I doubt OR battery issue. Shouldn't the code be 1 or the other not both?? Makes it hard to diagnose. View post on imgur.com
