Arrow Pure Unobtainium (F50, Enzo, 288GTO!)

So I saw this coming back from lunch today. One of four made in Nero Daytona (black). I had seen one once before (in red, obvi) but it was in a dealer showroom in like 2000. Caught it out the corner of my eye and pulled a quick 180* to snap a few pics. This is the same place where I spotted the Bugatti SuperSport last year.

I still think it's uglier than a gold Civic with a plywood wing. F40 was perfection.

There seriously isn't one square foot of those that looks good, maybe the tail lights.

Haha. I'll skip my rant about the Enzo and how it must have caused the real Enzo to roll around in his tomb.

How do you think he would have felt about their new flagship being named "the Ferrari TheFerrari"

At least it doesn't have an exclamation mark. Or a minivan front quarter window. Or a stupid third exhaust pipe (not to be confused with the kick ass bypass for the F40 turbos).

Truth

Actually in black, the F50 doesn't look as bad as usual.

Beautiful F50.
The truck is decked out in full McLaren livery. It hasn't moved in months.

They had a red 599GTO there this morning but I was running late after a dentist appointment so if it's there at lunch I will try to snap a few shots.

The car is hideous, everything the F40 gets right this gets wrong.

The only gorgeous thing about the car is what is underneath that bodywork...and those badges.

It's like the Mondial of F cars. They set the low water mark early, fortunately, it would take a really strong effort to ever stoop so low again.

Of course they nearly hit Mondial lows with the California, so I guess we can't rule it out.

Now that I think about it, it doesn't make much sense for a company like Ferrari, who pride themselves on motorsport prowess, to make their halo car a convertible.

Every F1 car is technically a convertible. I don't think it's ugly because it's a convertible, it's ugly because it looks like a convertible pick up truck with a JC Whitney rear wing and wheels from a Saturn.

I think the proportions of the front are fine - beautiful Ferrari - but the back half looks like a stretched-out, kit car.

Funny how the F50 was in the recent Top Gear "worst car in the world" video.
