There are people who cheat, yes, but it's usually pretty easy to see based on lap times and differences between the classes. If a 3 car is turning faster laps than a reasonably-set up 2 car, something is way off. If you're gonna do it, don't get greedy.

Never liked the MVP group. Always gave me a sleezy feeling.

Years ago I ran my og e46 M3 in NASA TT. It was absolutely perfect for TT3. But I was 3-4 seconds faster than second place. So I would bump up to TT2 and was able to take second or first. So there can be a huge difference in driver capabilities and car set up.
*the TT3 car was actually the same chassis that I run now but I've certainly made a few changes 😃

If you're cheating to be a big fish in a tiny amateur pond, you'd get your ass handed to you in a spec series, I think, is the old saying

It just takes one person to protest and you could be forced to dyno again. They’re suppose to have a mobile dyno at events but that’s hit or miss

That being said, yes people cheat all the damn time lol

Wheel Spacers:
Does anyone know if a wheel spacer that fits rear hub F80 M3 fits E92 M3 rear hub?

Please note, I am asking about the hub side, NOTE about the wheel side.

The reason for asking is that Turner lists two wheel spacers compatibility lists for the F80 M3 and the E92 M3.

One with 72.5 radius is showing on F80 M3
One with 72.6 radius is showing for E92 M3

I found on Google that the hub dimension is 72.56. So I wonder if this is just a rounding issue

H&R is listed with 72.5 and Turner is listing 72.6

Many thanks in advance.

They both use the same spacers, hub size is identical. Size listed varies as they get lazy and round instead of stating 72.56.

Perfect.
I found the exact spacer I need, H&R 13mm, under the F80 filter.

Apex makes very nice spacers. They don’t have a 13mm but make a 12mm. I use them with my street wheels.

Spacers should be identical.

If you are under 10mm for the F8x hubs, Turner has a cool design to utilize a hub extender where the gaps are in the center hub ring.

Yes, because I have the F80 hubs, I just ordered the 7.5mm for my front 28mm offset wheel and I hope that will solve my 285/30/19 problem with that set.

I was reluctant to use the normal 5mm on track days because measured the hub remaining and it was already into the widening portion of the wheel. It did not feel safe.

If you need a 5mm or 7.5mm spacer, then this is another reason to convert the front hub to F80 M14 studs.

From what I know, the hub lip is purely for centering the rim. It bears no real load when actually clamped down by the wheel studs/bolts. 5mm spacer will just make it harder to center the wheel when installing again. I run a 5mm without issue besides it hard to get the wheel installed with no studs.

It is my understanding that hub centric is not just for mounting and it does function after all is bolted down. Perhaps it is important in case a stud broke? Unless someone like Tom from Core40 get into this discussions with data, it is very hard to know if engineering supports our opinions.

All I can say is that i am not comfortable running a spacer thicker than 3mm with out the spacer provides the lip.

I totally agree. The 5mm provided enough space for my Titan7 wheel but I'm sure there are some wheels that do not have enough lip if they are chamfered enough.

I like the genius idea of the hub externder that Turner sells for F8x hubs
