Pretty excited to see/hear this thing out on track.

Did you find out what Carbahn's operating procedure is for their dry sump?

Are you keeping the stock ECU or going with a standalone? Does Carbahn do the tuning also?

In any case I will be public about the results of the experiment; I'll be the guinea pig! If it doesn't work out I can always put in a stock engine. YOLO
Cool. So, do you have a tire in mind that you will setup the car on? Or do you have a preferred tire that you like that you think will be the standard go-to?

How far out are you on an enclosed trailer? You gotta get those steel doors and glass windows off that car as soon as possible. Stop buying Porsches and get your ass over to the TPD store and get a damn trailer!! And then go down to the diesel pickup truck store and overpay for a nonexistent diesel truck!!

btw, sorry I don't know this, but who is doing all your tech work?

I'm just being lazy on the enclosed trailer since I am borrowing this open trailer long term. I don't really have any inertia forcing me towards closing the deal on one - I had wanted to wait until the supply chain settled down a little bit on materials, particularly aluminum, being so expensive.

Also, the open trailer sits nicely on my property and fits in the bounds of my side yard and the sidewalk, the enclosed trailer would be a little more involving in terms of finding a place to store it.

For tires, I'm doing Pirelli DHBs and ordering them as far in advance as I can. The plan is to have a set for "qualifying" and sets for practice. I have a tire rack on the open trailer that can fit 8 tires across, and I'll have a set on the car.

No doubt an enclosed trailer involves a lot of logistics. I duplicated my main toolset so I didn’t have to swap things all the time. Learning to park one has been one of the least enjoyable things I’ve done in Motorsport. If you’re gonna do long hauls, I really recommend the diesel. So much nicer. And the trips are shorter because you can do the speed limit on any terrain. With the diesel, when the nav tells you certain arrival time, you’ll be there at that time. With the Tundra, that was not the case. I am very thankful for the diesel. Anyway, the enclosed trailers offer much more flexibility and anonymity than an open trailer. There is so much bird shit on my trailer no one even gives it a second look. I’ve never washed it in 9 years!! Heck, I barely wanna touch it!! hahaha

Of course, you know my opinion of the Pirellis. I’m digging this latest set of DHB. The car feels really good on them.

Oh forgot to mention, Performance Technic in norcal is doing the work.

Stock ECU for now. Don't know if anything special yet for dry sump. I believe carbahn does the tuning but we will find out

What's the consensus as to why these motors need to be rebuilt more frequently?
Does the thinner cylinder walls make for a thinner gasket between the cooling channels and the cylinders and that eventually blows quicker?

I get my engine checked out annually, due to the difference in tolerances between OEM and the Stroker engine I want to make sure nothing is going bad, and if there is something wrong I can fix it.

especially with an alisul engine block.

Mine is a factory 92mm bore with an 82.7mm stroke

you have to understand that it's not really anything serious, it's more the fact you're taking away material, the engine gets ran differently, the tune is different, etc etc, different engine oil is used, which comes at an experiment with different weights. etc etc. especially if you track frequently you're adding track hours which converts to adding additional thousands of miles a year.

Engine didn't come with the dry sump. Still waiting for it :/ I asked if there were any special operating procedures for it, and don't have an answer here yet either.

Love this build, very excited for you!

I gave up on Carbahn after trying to get a hold of them. I wanted them to build a 4.6 with dry sump. Ive had a better chance speaking with God.

I finally got the dry sump, the last thing I'd been waiting on. This is going to proceed very soon.

Unfortunately my Cayenne got totaled so I need to figure out towing accommodations again.

My current thinking for track use is to actually just go all out and get a SuperC that's capable of towing 20k lbs for when I eventually go with dogbone 's suggestion of towing double stacked trailer.
