Not cheap at all. Those who can do. Those who cant pay. I personally always bring my car to an experienced mechanic to have work performed/things installed. Besides not having the proper tools or wanting to spend the time performing the work, I feel more comfortable paying for work to be done correctly at a reputable place than taking the risk of messing something up if I do it.

More power to anyone who has the skills to do his own work. I WISH I had the skill and facility to legitimately tinker with my M3.

Last time I messed with mechanics, I ended up a tearing a hole in space and time, creating a paradox where I couldn't stop asking myself what to do.

i do everything myself and i dont think its a money issue i hate people installing shit and at the end your are going to do it yourself to make it right. i had people work on my previous car and just wasnt so satisfied everytime i get home so ever since then i decided to do everything myself.

That depends on which shop do you trust on your car.
If they're really good on a reasonable price, of course it's worth a try.

To tell you the truth, shops love people who DIY.

I'm also doing most of the modding myself. I don't think your cheap, its more fun if you do it yourself.

donovan, yes you are cheap but then so is warren buffet and nobody got complaints with him.

i like to DIY with pretty much anything. I think you appreciate the task more and it helps you understand just how that particular system works.
