BTW, V2 will be out soon. I understand some people like a raspy metalic sound and some dont. V2 will have 2 resonators up front to eliminate 90% of the rasp and will have hardware update for CEL (increased emissions code). V2 is on a test car right now and I'll keep you guys up to date on the progress.
excellent. will there be any loss in power?

Will it be quieter with the two resonators up front? Or it will be just as loud but without the rasp sound. Nice work. Can't wait for the V2 to come out!!!

Great thread...RPI exhaust sounds awesome. Videos are definitely deceiving...but from what I've seen, the RPI full exhaust sounds the best. Something to add to the list of "must haves"....along with the car! Still waiting on my M3...just ordered this week. Definitely gotta check out the shop too. I'm also in so cal and am looking for local shops. I see the cross streets above (Paramount off the 91 and 710 near North Long Beach). Is there a website?

Thanks MrHarris and E09///M3. I'll probably be getting my exhaust and ram air intake there.

I see now why Gintani opted to use resonators in the catless setup they offer..... IMO, resonators are mandatory if you give a shit about the sound... That rasp on the E90 video really sounds disgusting. I am confident when RPI slaps on those resonators it will sound worlds better!

the new pipes are pre-oiled, that's why there are smoke coming out, but it'll be gone after a few days of driving.

Some people like the rasp and some dont. With V2, we got rid of most of the rasp but there is a tiny hint (Porsche like) on the very top of the rpm band. We opted to keep that as it just because its sounds like a totally pissed off V8.

Every exhaust system is made from scratch. We dont use mufflers made by muffler or exhaust companies. When we are manufacturing the systems there is a lot of oil used to cut/bend the tubing. The white smoke is just the oils burning off. It would be pretty bad if it was blue smoke. hehe.

i've heard it! balls to the wall is how i would describe it! It has RASP but with the release of the v.2 the RASP has been decreased significantly according to Eloy.

Personally i LOVE the sound of the original but i'm more afraid of California laws about the cat's

rasp is only on a cold start, i don't know why everyone is complaining. once the pipes expand it basically goes away, at WOT you hear it near redline but i think it sounds awesome.
