m3 gts build
Hi All!
Pretty new to the site, but have always been a big enthusiast of BMW and ///M. This is my 11th ///M car and my family's 15th BMW. I wanted to share the car that i've been building to get some expertise from the few that have done something similar. Hopefully can get a lot more pictures of it up soon as well. I picked up this car about a month ago to pursue a build i've always wanted to do, an m3 gts clone. The car is spec'd in alpine white with silver novillo extended leather. Besides the leather/heated seats option, it is a stripper model with no nav, carbon roof, 6mt, no mdm etc. The car also had a 6/4 piston stoptech bbk, and TCK double adjustable coilovers which was a big plus for me with what I had planned. As the title explains, I am trying to do my version of a GTS build, with similar components and specs, to be a fun street car, and capable track car. So far, I have added the following: PS Designs GTS armrest delete PS Designs titanium studs Turner motorsport aluminum pedals Recaro pole position Schroth 6 point GTS style half cage custom painted fire orange hard motorsport trunk fill panel ultimate clutch pedal Pom performance GT4 front lip Pom performance GTS rear wing Dinan Exhaust Dinan carbon airbox TMS power pulleys TMS cat delete pipes The interior from seats back is completely gutted, including the trunk. One of the main things I am looking to do next and hopefully get some insight into is how to make a rear seat delete such as in the GTS. If anyone has some experience with doing this and has a list of instructions/materials it would be greatly appreciated! I am also wondering what people have done as far as interior door panels, trim, etc. that have gone for this similar look. I have a lot more planned for the car, and then can hopefully get it on track in the next few months as well. I will try and get some more pictures soon as well, the pollen here is pretty bad at the moment. Thanks for any insight and hope you enjoy! Last edited by E92Mthusiast; 03-28-2020 at 01:02 PM.. |

interior update
Finally got the majority of the interior done... My passenger Recaro seat got back ordered and after i got a notification that it would be another month and a half, searched around and finally found one at Evasive Motorsports. Hugh was super helpful and had it from across the country in like 3 days from placing the order as well as a few other items.
Swapped the silver oem door panels to Hardmotorsport lightweight panels Changed bmw v1 electronic wheel to OEM wheel with black alcantara/orange installed dash trim and shift boot, also black alcantara/orange installed recaro pole position and schroth 6 pt I've got a few more items on the way, and my first track event in this car scheduled for road atlanta next month with Jzilla. |

Where is the half cage from? Looks like you can easily slide a set of wheels in back seat through the truck?

I bought an OEM steering wheel and had it custom done in the alcantara and orange stitching/stripe to match the rest of the interior

Thanks, i will check it out. I can definitely get a set of wheels in the back, but will be getting a trailer soon and won't need to do that. The cage is from trinity autosports in anaheim, CA and then i painted it fire orange.

Doing my first track day with this car down at road atlanta in 2 weeks. Getting a few last minute parts in and the car properly set up.
Just got these from Bimmerworld, 18x10 square set (i ceramic coated these with Adam's kit before installing) with nankang AR1's. I've always used R888's and really liked them, but these came highly recommended and figured i'd give them a shot. They are much more "slick" like than the R888's in looks. I also added ground control weight jacks in the rear with stiffer Eibach springs.

titanium doesn't belong in your studs. If you're going to track seriously you probably want to move to 14mm studs in steel anyway.
There are plenty of stories with Ti studs. They just don't work |

Love the door cards! I was interested in those myself, how was the fitment?

Fitment was really good except for right on the very top. Hard to get them as tight as the sides there and they sag just a hair (like 1-2mm). Not extremely noticeable, but is kind of annoying.

As recommended by many, I'll be swapping out the studs for some MW steel ones which should be here tomorrow as well as some harness collars since I am using a schroth head restraint device.
A friend of mine also made me some black meatballs and orange 14's for my track day this weekend. I am digging the look!

One of the most carnage track days I've ever been a part of with 2 m3's, a corvette, and a 360 modena going into walls between turns 1-5. Even with several sessions getting black flagged, it was a very fun day with this car.

Absolutely loved the AR1's. I've tracked the last few years with r888's and i thought the AR1's had a lot more grip. I am running a 18x10 square setup with 275/35/18's.
