Passing NYS inspection with HFC?

Has anyone here successfully passed NYS inspection with an x pipe that has high flow cats?
I know some hfc do not throw CEL, but does that mean that it will pass a NYS inspection?

To answer both of your questions. Yes. As long as the software for the ECU does not disable for the readiness test of the post-catalytic 02 sensors, you should be fine.

as stated below if you have a tune that disables rear o2 readiness the car will not pass but if you don’t and the cats work as advertised then you have a chance at passing but it’s a longshot. You may be better off with o2 spacers if the heated catalyst does not go “READY”

I have the AFE center section with the hi-flow cats and I was able to pass NYC inspection with the special tune that allows the rear sensors to go ready.

that's different than what OP is asking

The special tune you have allows anything to pass. It is also highly illegal and you shouldn't be commenting on it here (vs via PM)

Sounds like 'spark plug defoulers' and the OEM tune are your friend

Actually there is nothing at all illegal about the tune - it does not force the sensors to go ready (which would be illegal) but it allows them to go ready with the standard drive cycle just as the stock tune does.

I'm from NYS too. I used to be down where you are (lived in Jericho) and now I'm in Syracuse back upstate where I'm from. I don't like to talk about emissions on here too much, but all I can say is trust me - if I'm fine and pass every year, then you're definitely fine with your setup. Shoot me a PM if you have any questions.
