Well OP, just remember he still has to wear the mustang mullet and drive back to his trailer... . Just kidding, I worked at a mustang shop for many years building cars for track use and different racing series. They're cheap to get fast and with the right suspension, can run circles around 911s for a lot less money. That being said, the refinement just still isn't there. Don't forget those mustangs are built on the Lincoln LS platform.

He must have had you at the outset. The pull from 60 to 75 mph in the M3 does not take long at all even at stock. Not sure how you had time to look down at the speedometer once you let her rip! Mustang is a sweet car, but I do love my M3.

...in fact the BMW is not "great" or number 1 in anything. However, its number 2 in everything and no car is that good....I read that somewhere... Last edited by M3-S65; 06-11-2014 at 04:14 PM.. |

Yea, ugly it was not! I won a lot of trophies with that car and always had people taking pictures of it. Haven't had one person take pics of the M. Then again, I'm not done with it yet!

I was thinking about this thread today and while I was driving along the freeway, it got me thinking again as I drove behind an Audi S5... How many other cars would this Mustang compete with and we should also feel good that the Mustang would have beat the Audi and probably a Merc c63
All high dollar cars but still in leagues above the Mustang. It's not just the destination of who got there first but also about the journey. |

But seriously, there was some other thread where a dude said he flat out beat a BOSS 302..Yea right. M3 can’t touch the pony cars. That anemic high winding 4L is good in the twisties, but there is no replacement for displacement and brute power/torque. |

@deeborn - I agree, we can't touch most ponys, and we are good in the canyon, but with that said, I have had a mustang gt500 keep up with me in the canyons, I mean he was kissing my ass all the way up and all the way down. If there was a straight, I think he would have enough reserve to over take me.. Idk man, I feel like the old muscles are making a come back in the all around performance category

First off I want to say I love Mustangs....have had Mustangs all my life until 2001 when I got into my first BMW E46 M3. The problem BMW M3 owners have is that Ford actually sells go fast parts for quite cheap that are CARB legal and come with a factory warranty. Case in point..
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...KeyField=12168 This S/C kit is available from Ford Racing Parts for under $7K and is CARB exempt and it has a 12mos. warranty with it as long as its installed by a Ford dealer. As far as NOS on a Mustang there are some people who do squeeze them but you are taking a chance as one hiccup and you destroy the plastic intake manifold from the backfire. That is why I wish someone like Gintani, VF engineering or someone else who makes blowers wish they would get these things CARB exempt. Dave

I will say I always liked the Ford Racing catalog. I remember when cobra wheels were $150 a piece from Ford. Can you imagine BMW ever selling wheels for $150? You could get a full exhaust system from headers to tailpipes for $800.
