I was humiliated last night by a 2013/14 Ford Mustang GT.

I was driving home on the freeway and I saw a GT pull up next to me honkin' up a storm. So I decided to push the "m" button and give it a little go.. We took off from around 60mph (my car was pushing hard) and as soon as we took off we were even till about 75ish.. then he just ripped away.. ripped away like he knew he had me all along.. like this is his job, to embarrass m3 owners who spend 70k+ on their cars..

Its like that moment in life when you know everything is going okay for you and the happy level is way up there, then all of a sudden one day its all stripped away from you.. thats how I feel till this very moment writing this post lol..

Im assuming his car had some kind of forced induction system in it, but I'm not sure because on mustangs you usually hear that loud SC no matter how fast you're going and all I heard on his car was the exhaust.. I just really hope it wasn't stock.. like, really hoping..

Think my case was even worse than OP but the beast along me was called GODZILLA ?!?!

You can bet money that he was baiting you all along. I pretty much try to pick fights only with those I know I can beat! These guys that "honk" and rev and try to goad you into it, they've all got something going on. It's the equivalent of walking into a bar with some brass knuckles and trying to start a fight with some poor hapless schmuck who has no idea what's coming.

LOL - gotta love it!

NO2 does wonders, is cheap and the poor unsuspecting competition doesn't hear a thing. My guess is he was running happy gas and laughing as his $500 expenditure on a $35K car laid waste to a $80K M3. He'll enjoy that for a while, but eventually his rings will be junk. Just enjoy the all-around car that the M3 is. There is more to life then going fast in a straight line...

Stock 2013 Mustang GT is rated at 420 Hp and carries a 3620 pound curb weight... this should be a fairly even match for the E9x M3. Although the GT has the advantage of 390 ft-lbs of torque, the M3 has a wider rev range to operate over before a shift is required.

If the Mustang ran away, it was likely modified with a Vortech or similar.

Bolt-ons on a 5.0 have these guys running mid-11s at 120+mph

5.0's with blowers are banging out 10 second passes like it's no one's business

I don't know about you, but I really didn't get my M3 to drag race muscle cars on the highway, not really a drag racer is it? The thought never even crossed my mind.

I have it because it's about the best all around DD you could ask for - besides, that hood gives me wood.

He was modified. It's actually a pretty even race (straights) with those 13/14 Stang 5.0's so in order for him to walk you like that, he was modified. Don't feel too bad lol
