BIMMERPOST NEWS
Airstrip Attack: ESS VT3-725 Supercharged M3 vs 2013 R35 GT-R FBO

COMMENTS

BIMMERPOST once again sponsored the most recent Airstrip Attack, a two day runway shootout race event held at the Coalinga Municipal Airport in Coalinga, California. As before, the event saw some of the most powerful European, Domestic, and Japanese cars from California go head-to-head on a half mile stretch of tarmac. The classes ranged from 400hp+ all the way to 1000hp+

The following race featured an ESS VT3-725 Supercharged BMW M3 vs. FBO 2013 R35 GT-R. Check out the result in the video.

We'll be posting many more shootout videos from the event, so stay tuned to our homepage for updates. Many thanks to DLSJ5 (Drew) for preparing the videos.

Given that it was running shitty 91 octane, probably mid 500 wheel depending on the tune. With higher octane race gas (especially E85) they can get up to over 600whp easily with just changing the map - I'd love to see drew's car against this car on kill mode (E85 + high boost), they would probably have around the same hp and it should be a great run!

Ricky great points, but that GTR on 91 is about even with a Mild cammed C6 Z06, the GTR's have come a long way on 91 since I ran them in my VT625, but you're right, I ran a E85 GTR and it was close, he's around 600+whp on a Mustang, that vid will be posted soon.

The one problem both Longboarder (VT600) and I had were we had to run MDM (traction control) on every run, yet we still either lost traction at the start or had power cut at the beginning, and for between shifts, you could really feel the car slow down a tad, I experienced this on use about every run, lol. Unfortunately because of the cold weather, there wasn't much else we could do, such is RWD life.

Yep, the newer ones are significantly faster than the older ones.
Check out this thread, should give us a good idea of what these newer 2013's put down:
http://www.gtrlife.com/forums/topic/...awhp-166-awtq/

When I run, I easily can lose 1-5 carlengths depending if I bounce the rev-limiter/fuel cutoff or even spin during the shifts - I see what you're saying there, it completely kills the momentum and ruins the race

EDIT: just read the other thread........given you had your manifold popping off (serious boost leak), its damn impressive you walked this car that hard the e85 gtr......you were losing alot of power with that manifold not sitting tight !

Boost leak explains it !! A minor leak can net you 2-3 psi easily
