Good call. Though those are out of production now, as you say.

I though of two more current ones: Subaru WRX (5 speed) and WRX STi (6 speed).

Wow, what a gay video.

Glad they chose the m3 over the 1m.

Oh, and to add another to the list (and yes, I know its not in the same class as an M3 or Porsche): Golf R (US version).
There are a lot of rumors swirling around. I don't know what to believe. The GT cars are at least a year away, so anything can change.

this just in: Motortrend chooses the BMW car with greater cylinders and horsepower, shocking.

I have never cared for their reviews and continue to regard the 1M as the better car.

Interesting vid, but it needed more performance numbers (slalom, skidpad, braking to name a few) anybody else notice the striking resemblance of Johnny to the fat kid from Superbad?

The 1M is a great little package. It just would have been so much better with the S65 or even a tweak S54.

The N54 in it just isn't special enough.

Great car though.

The BMW performance exhaust makes the M3 sound... like an American muscle car, which is great for a Vette or Camaro, but it takes away from what the M3's almost exotic sound is. It's not bad, it's just not right to me (which is fine because I can't afford an M3 or the exhaust to go with it lol).

That video was pretty sorry. The fat guy was really unfunny.

Just read the review .... loved this qoute.. haha!

"The 1M may pull strongly when its computer allows the torque boost, but while it's figuring that out, the M3 simply revs. And how it revs! This exhaust note should be weaponized; anyone within earshot is rendered a quivering mess."

.... this one gave me chills.. I love my M3..

"But is it better? Lieberman and I agree: No. This big, heavy, and expensive M3, with its unflappable confidence and lascivious powertrain, is the car we want, the car we'll remember as the best of the naturally aspirated Ms. It's the one we'll tell young gearheads about in a few decades with the same fondness and reverence as given its E30 ancestor. The 1M doesn't measure up to the M3's standard. Few cars do."

Some video of the M3 with the M exhaust was the only worthwhile aspect. I did enjoy that!

M3 FTW!!! And lets keep in mind this is the outgoing generation...wait till the F3X M3 comes out...a 1M won't even have a chance. The M3 will always be the King of the M's, it's BMW's pride and joy...the 1M however is a nice alternative if you can't afford the M3.

F32 M3 will be a turbocharged disaster I'm betting. I think anyone who still wants a real BMW ///M car new better have it made before 6/2012
