All Corvette Z06's and ZR1's are manual only. Having owned 2 C5 Z06's, I also always thought that was cool -- knowing that they only come in 6MT!

I like them both. However, the E9x M3 DCT is a special car, there can be no doubt. A high-revving DCT is usually found in exotics. Most other "semi-automatics" (Porsche, Audi, Merc) don't shift nearly as fast.

The wife and I have three of them from BMW. E30 M3, E39 M5 & E 86 M Coupe. All offered only in manual tranny

Looks aside, I personally thing the 1M is a great car, but it should be compared to the E30 M3, E36/8 M Coupe & E86 M Coupe. Back to basic driver cars, that you have to work to drive well. The cars that the ///M engineers wanted to make and drive. The E92 M3 is a great car, and I will probably trade in my M Coupe for one next year, but it's a different driving experience (not better or worse, but different).

Why are the M3 owner's so sensitive and insecure about their cars? An Atom will beat all of us....so who cares what anyone or any magazine says. I don't need someone else to tell me what to buy. Neither should anyone else on this forum. Drive what you like and respect others rides....

I would love to own both cars, but I'm not picking the 1M over the M3 if I could only pick one. Our engine is very Special!

Totally makes me proud I traded my 135i for an E46 M3, though for me the E92 M3 is completely drool inducing and the car I'd love to have if I had the money.

I think the reason a car like GT3 being offered only in manual is different than 1m being offered only in manual. I wouldn't be surprised if the real reason is to cut the R&D cost of the 1m.

What a couple of knobs.....the only reason I watched the entire thing was because of how gorgeous that M3 is....1M is very nice, but the M3 is untouchable
