m5 f10 steering wheel on e92 dct

Hi everyone,

I have just fitted the f series steering wheel to my e92 dct.

almost everything works as expected with the steering wheel adapter.

the one thing that i can’t get to work is the paddle
shifters.

did anyone ever manage to get them working?

Maybe JQWerks can help. Their magnetic paddle shifters work for both E9x M3 and F10 M5 (different units) so maybe they can make up a hybrid one for you.

Interesting project tho. Does the M button work? What does M2 on F10 wheel do in the E9x M3?

Any wide angle shots to see how it fits in with the rest of the E9x interior?

Managed to make them work.
i had to change the resitors in the M5 paddles so that the values match the m3 ones.

The M1 button does what the M button used to do and the m2 button does nothing but i think i will wire it up to make the same as the M1 button.

imo the wheel looks ok in the e92 with the m4 seats.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing. What do the two buttons on the far left do? The LIM and the meter thing. Do they work?

the LIM doesn't do anything

the RES one goes back to the cruise control speed it had before applying the brake
the meter thing sets the current speed as cruise control

Hi,

there is a company that makes the adapters. Not sure if i’m allowed to paste the link.

There is also a youtube video with a guy who retrofits it.
