Not the same rev capability? What? 8250 rpm isn't exactly a Yugo engine. And as I mentioned earlier, about a 30kg difference.

i have contacted tony. I found out that it is true. You can connect both engines to the e90 six speed. This made things easier for me. Im thinking if engines are about the same but needing some more fabrication and labor time, I would do the swap. I cant do the stroker on my current engine, seems the oil pump failed because it looked like no oil went to my engine.
This happened the day I came back from mfest in Las Vegas. I drove 80-85 the entire way. When I opened my engine I saw my crankshaft fused or melted to the block that cause shavings to go through the entire engine. This is all sad news as I only had the car for a little over a year. Bought it from someone off this forum in San Deigo. |

That means anybody who wants to put an S85 into an E92 would need to create a bridge between the two and translate MSS65 CAN traffic to E92 chassis and visa versa. Making matters more complicated, many CAN messages used by the E92 chassis aren't output by the MSS65, and the ones that are common don't appear at the same CAN address and in some cases don't have the same format either. I hope this helps, wouldn't want you to get into a project only to discover it won't work like you thought. |

so what caused the failure in the first place? finding that out i believe is quite important to know if there are any design flaws in the engine or its components that caused this oil starvation.
