Just Ordered New Winter Wheels/Tires For The M-Will these be okay in the Tri-State?
Hey Guys,
Literally just purchased this package off tirerack, as a I hear the snow is coming to the Northeast! Here is the setup I went with: Wheels F 19x8.5 Breyton Race GTS Matte Grey R 19x9.5 Breyton Race GTS Matte Grey Tires F 235/35R19 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60 R 255/35R19 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60 Let me know what you think. This was the absolute cheapest 19" package out there for the M3, and I figured the width difference from 18" to 19" was negligible enough to warrant getting the 19's and filling that fender a little nicer. Just hoping to make it through the Northeast Winters. I have pretty decent seat time in RWD BMW's in the snow.

Yeah, why wouldn't it be? Blizzaks are great...you'll be fine with that setup for sure! I just had blizzaks mounted to OEM 19s today...I'm in the NYC area.

Just was not sure because it was the only Tirerack option available. Storms are coming soon and I wasn't able to devote the necessary research to making sure I was making a good choice.
Thanks!

exactly what i ran last year except with a VMR wheel instead but same tires and same size and they did very well. was able to go through more inches of snow then i thought i would. if it wasn't for the low front end i could of went through even more i think. then on ice they worked really well too. obviously they will be a bit squirrly in handling compared to a summer tire but you get used to it

should had gotten 18s and run a 245 square setup! that's what I'm doing. I got Blizzak WS60s, heard they were a bit better in snow than the LMs

I got the same ones. I am under the impression the WS60 is more of an actual snow tire but suffers in everything else. The reason I went with them is that it was the same price + 18s wheels as a set of 19s LM's. I'm actually looking forward to see how well they do in the snow.

It's my first season using snow tires, had a set of Yokohama YK520 on my AMG and it plowed thru light snow. One downfall to snow tires is that they are not as great in dry roads and are quite noisy! But after all, they ARE snow tires. So Glad I got a floor jack and an air compressor, so I can swap wheels whenever!

you'll be okay with that setup. i'm running 225/265 lm-25. not ideal, but that's all they had available at the time. drove in snow last year and had no issues with grip or stopping.

wow thats drastic width, shouldnt you be running 235/265 or 225/255? but I still think anything over 245 is a bit too wide for snow anyways
