question re: speed cloth - it looks like some have a partial (upper) back that is leather, some the backs are full cloth. I thought maybe the full cloth seats were manual, and the partial cloth seats were powered, but i saw a full-back cloth seat that was powered - was this a year differential thing, or just different options ?

I believe the earlier speed cloth seats had partial leather in the center.

My '11 has full cloth in the center and are manual.

Still haven't finalized with insurance, so I know where a super clean Speed Cloth E90 interior and recently changed rod bearing motor is right now!

My 2013 has full cloth, manual adjustment (except lumbar) and no heat.

Was hoping to get your opinions. I've been thinking of switching these out to Recaro Cross Sportster CS.

Does anyone think the car would be more desirable in 10 years with my stock seats or the Recaros?

I go back and forth. For example, when I see a clean E36 with the BMW M seats, for some reason I prefer that to any aftermarket seats. I guess because it's OEM and represents the way the car should look from that era. The seats play a big part to identifying an M car since they were bespoke to M3's only and not in the rest of the 3 series lineup.

Plus, I have speed cloth which makes it even more exclusive.

Maybe I'm just overthinking this lol

Why not keep the OEM seats in case you wanna sell it later and swap them back in? plus you probably get more money parting the CSs out later. Just a thought.

Yep, it's a year thing and you couldn't get the manual cloth seats until '11.5.

My '11.5 is full cloth and power.

I will take your cloth door cards and rear seats if you end up selling. I have custom novillo leather Sportsters and leather door cards I could send your way.

You're the second person to offer for my speed cloth interior. What's going on here? LOL You would think Recaro Sportsters (especially in novillo) are an upgrade to stock seats. Is speed cloth full interior really that much more preferred?
