BBS CHR, will these fit my e92 M3?

Hi guys,

Just a quick one, will these BBS CHR rims fit my e92 M3?

Front : 8.5x19 et32

Rear : 9.5x19 et35

I believe they came off a 5 series...

Thanks!

No. Those rims are narrow and offset too high.

Stock ZCP rims for your reference.

9x19 ET31
10x19 ET 25

The front will be thin, promoting understeer plus a mm more inset rim.
Rear will also be narrow, limiting traction which our cars need a bit more of. Plus et 35 is way too inset. You'll need a 15mm spacer to be anywhere near stock offset which is already inset if you like to be more flush.

Correct me if I am wrong anyone.

The non ZCP wheels have the same width as the wheels mentioned in the OP's post.

The front is fine, the rear is going to need a 12mm spacer. If you haven't bought them yet, I would pass. If you are going to be buying these you might as well move up to a more aggressive sizing.

Another thing you need to make sure of is the center bore. While these likely have the standard 72.4 bore, some 5 series, specifically the E39's at least, have a 74.1 bore which needs a hub centric spacer/adapter to bring it down to the smaller size. It would be my opinion this wheels could fit but are not ideal.

You may want to see if anyone is selling a set of RAC wheels.
They were based on the CH-R, but are 8,000 TON forged and made in Japan. It was a run of wheels made just for our car. Might be hard to find a set in AUS, but you never know.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
