Found this car (the GTS) for my coworker and talked him into buying it. On my list of 20 cars I'd realistically like to own some day, this is top 3. I told him to keep it nice and in 10 years I'd write him a check.

Carbon Ceramic Brakes
Centerlock wheels
PASM
PDK

Drool......

Both are 2011's

So what's the gig on the GTS for the 997.2? I hear it's the car for the 991, but I can't say that I know much. The 997 is the only generation of the "post air cooled" that really seem to grab at me (the GT3 specifically, but I think I'll be kicked to living on the street before that happens).

Lovely! The 997.2 GTS is a beautiful car; the wide hips are stunning.

Beautiful! I just began looking at potentially adding a 997 to my e90. Was sold on S the but the GTS seems special (though a bit more expensive). How is the drive?

The GTS is not mine but I did get a chance to drive it and it felt great. More visceral than the M but to be honest not a drastic "improvement" in feel.

Ha. I'll probably have to turbo then, specially since I'll soon supercharge my e90.

Drool. Would love to upgrade to a GTS someday. Quite a formidable combo!

Why pay 60-80k for gts when you can get a pristine turbo at that price point?

But it's a Turbo! Lol. Is there a more iconic 911?

Owned 3 911's(2 garage queens & 1 was a water cooled daily) & this next one will be a daily. The Turbo definitely is but for me as a daily GTS suited better.

I wouldn't turn down a good deal on either car lol but something about this 11-12 GTS has me hooked

Ha. I feel you. I only had a Boxster s before. I guess there is something about the 997 turbo that has me hooked too. Check this 2017 turbo s; I feel like they've tamed the car's looks. Doesn't speak to me like the 997.: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2017-Porsch...1:pf:0&vxp=mtr. I test drove a 997 turbo last month and just looking back on the side mirror and seeing those big hips and air intake scoops was amazing lol

Looks good. The GTS does seem like the sweet spot of the 911 lineup. But centerlock wheels. They just seem like such a hassle to be able to work on for no benefit. In racing they allow for quicker tire changes but for non-race teams, it takes longer to change out, and dealing with the mess of the grease makes it more of a hassle. I wish the GT3 was offered with an option to not have CLs.
