If you've never tried one, I highly recommend the C-More red dot sights. I bought another one for my Galil with 8 moa and love it. I don't really plan on using this rifl....err pistol farther out than 100 yds anyway so the 8 moa is just fine.

Put a couple hundred more rounds through it today outside and still no stoppages with 500 rounds through it. The action on this thing is so smooth, I'm glad I got it! I dropped the angled front grip though, just put the covers back on (just couldn't get comfortable with the angled grip on this thing). I will put a post on once the paperwork clears in a few months.

You're killing me! I'm trying to resist the urge to pick up their matched upper/lower receiver to start a 6.5 Creedmoor build!
This won't help...

Added the AK long safety to the scorpion.

I also added a extended charging handle from HB Industries.

I only have one question, and I'm sure I asked it before,

do you shoot sidegrip, and if you do, is recoil better or worse,

20 lbs of 30-06 manliness. Most amazing weapon I've ever owned or fired. The action is built like a giant 1911. So well made.

Thank goodness, I was never in WWII because my big ass would of probably been assign to carry the BAR and I would have been targeted and killed instantly by the Japanese.

I was never in the military. You get "assigned" guns? or they did back then?

I would imagine that they got big guys to carry the BAR during WWII. Just like big guys probably got tapped to carry the M-60 in Vietnam.

Not sure about the troops who carry the SAW in our most recent conflicts, anyone familiar want to weigh in?

Bro, I'm 5'3. When I got to my first Battalion in '97 I was assigned to be a 60 gunner because the Platoon Cmdr thought it was funny. In '97 Seabee Battalions had not yet fully converted to the 240 (60 replacement). SAW? Would, without question carry it instead of a 240.

Not a perfect science I’m sure, but yes they'd serve different roles within a platoon. Probably tried to get big guys to carry the bigger guns back then, but doubt there were many 6’4” 300lb guys walking around in 1942.

I have heard stories (like previous poster) where small guys carried the BAR in theater. There was a belt with a metal receiver that they’d stick the butt of the gun in to help with the recoil. These little guys were real men and heroes. Especially considering the death rate of the guys carrying the BAR was very high (targeted by the enemy), second only to the flame thrower guys IIRC.

It’s complicated and I don’t know all the nuances. Basically new ARs, AR pistols and SBRs are a no go.

You can only go AR featureless which includes a lot of things like no collapsible stock, no pistol grip, a million of other things.

You can grandfather in long rifle ARs, but SBRs and AR pistols are really tricky / illegal now.

Yeah no worries on knowing the law 100%.

I know for example for my new gun, the CZ Scorpion, some states you can only get a 10 round magazine for it. Lets just say it looks stupid with it. Looks like you dont have a mag in it at all.

I'm looking to add one more handgun for home defense. I think I've decided to stick with a .45, which I've been shooting all my life. It's come down to these two:

Glock 21 Gen4
HK P30L

I still got to test drive on a range, but I'm liking the simplicity of the Glock. I've always wanted an HK though, so I'm torn. Anyone have any pros-cons for each?

BTW I currently have a Colt 1911 70 Series that's custom.

Get the HK, you won't regret it. I have a 9mm USP Compact and it's been rock solid.

I've never liked that wonky grip angle on Glocks, but if you can deal with it, that's not a bad second choice.

Glock 34, I like the smoother angle of the grip, much better than the 17/19 models.
But at least no match to my Sig 229.
That size wasnt intentional...
