It's not truly a carbon fiber roof anyway; it's carbon fiber reinforced plastic.

yes, its an option. You can opt out of the CF roof for a regular sun roof.

well, tons of pic came out much before with M3s(especially Jerez) without CF roof and with sunroof. I guess there is an option. but I doubt if anybody would want it.

It is truly carbon fiber. Folks use the term carbon fiber as short for many type os constructions that contain carbon fiber and carbon fiber reinforced plastic is one of those. This is the same stuff that fighter aircraft and F1 cars are made from.

I think sunroof will spoil the sporty look of the CF roof. It'll make it slightly executive. but, its just how I feel.

Agree, still, we don't get the sunroof option in the UK.

I'm sure that the sunroof is an option in the UK also. I chose not to, but I believe that I could have gone for a steel roof with sunroof.

As Swamp2 says, CFRP is the same thing as what's commonly called "carbon fiber". Carbon is the reinforcing fiber but needs a matrix to form a usable product, which is typically a plastic resin, hence carbon fiber reinforced plastic.

Dude, the CF hood on the M3 is standard, it comes with the car.... but you'll be given as an option to add a metal roof and Moonroof for an additional cost.

Additional cost - are we sure on that? Seems like it could be a no-cost thing.
