Performance Match for the New BMW M3...
Hi all...My name is Nikos. I am a Ex-Porsche 997 Supercharged owner and have recently put an Order for a Alpen White BMW M3 .The New M's have not Been Seen in Thessaloniki ,Greece were i leave so i really don’t have any idea how Fast it goes. I bet it will be slower than my Supercharged 997 Carrrera (...it had around 500 bhp and weight 1450 kilograms) but , if anyone can speculate, is it going to be faster than a BMW 650?I have driven this car a lot of times so i believe i can have a comparison in my mind if i knew how it would stood up against the BIG and heavy 6er.Thanks in advance.....

You are right the 650 is big and relatively heavy. With 360hp/360lb-ft it has less power than the 414hp M3. The 650 is a fast, roomy touring coupe. The two cars have different missions: The 6 Series is about luxury touring and the M3 is about extreme performance. The M3 is faster, but the front seat room is much tighter.
That said, both cars are faster than most other cars on the road, it's just that the 6er is faster than 95% of other cars, and the M3 is faster than 99%, roughly speaking. If you want extreme performance and also lots of head room and leg room then get the M6. It is the extreme performance version of the 650, which has 500hp and does 0-60mph in 4.5s, roughly the same as the M3. Note the M6 is not available in a sedan version. When you're almost 2 meters tall, you really notice the lack of space in the 3 Series cars, at least in coupe form, but the 6 is still comfortable. |

The M6 is faster i know,BUT it is a Big Gran Turismo Car and definately not as DIRECT as the M3 Mainly because of the weight,Dimensions,Differential Setup, Double Disk Clutch and weight distribution. The Power is a Value that can easily be Changed.... |
