That's what I'm wondering - assuming environmental conditions are equal and the same car is run on a dyno, I'm thinking that what the car is "asked" to do would be equal among the tunes.

When my warranty runs out, I will be getting a tune - this kind of comparison is exactly what I'd like to see.

Guys - we don't want this thread to tune into a 'tuner wars' or 'bashing' thread. I think that the owners of the respective tunes out there are happy with their purchase. Roman, If I make it to bimmerfest east I'll definitely reach out to img and we can set something up. Also sent you an email to discuss the testing offline and post the results if it materializes.

Thanks everyone for your understanding.

Let's do it in Cali in your backyard. You set the location and date and we will fly in. If we are going to do it then let's have both parties and the general public there.

I can provide my car if u guys want to do this in Cali. I already have the ESS V2 tune.

Can you imagine how quiet this forum will become if the all tunes produce similar power gains?

And innovation. Things like DCT and Servo mods

I think it's reasonable to say that most tunes will provide similar gains WOT.

There is still partial throttle mapping, features, customer support, and other factors to consider.

We've never made any claims that we are better than X or Y tuner. We focus on our passion, our customers, and innovation. What other companies are doing is unimportant to us, our focus is clear and concise.

Wait, you said I would blow away any car on the street with this tune Mike!!!! Just kidding, the reason I got this tune was to smooth out power delivery and get some more torque under 3k which the BPM did in spades. The only people that focus on the Hp #'s don't read the whole story. I don't recall ANY top tuner saying their tune gives more hp than the competition! Now the customers...that's a different story.

Why does this have to be a war? Sounds like a blast between a fun community. Let everyone's work speak for itself. Not everyone can be equal and there is always someone with a better product over the next guy, albeit a small margin in this case.

If ess was this active usually than I probably would never have had an issue but the servo was the last straw as I really have wanted this and not even a comment that they would bring this to their users who paid 1k for a tune just like every other tuners.

To me, it is surprising over 100 people buy a tune and no one has anything more than a butt dyno.

I see you continue to post and continue to ignore my requests in this thread and via PM for you to send me you’re VIN so I can verify that you are actually a customer running our tune as you claim to be. Would you care to explain why this is? For someone who took the time to start this thread and continues to be active in it and someone who is concerned with the activity of their tuner on the forums im surprised you continue to ignore my simple request. If you refuse to do so im going to assume you are not who you say you are and that the reasons for your thread have nothing to do with your personal interest. I really hope this is not the case.

Want my 100% honest truth?

I knew most of the power came from the test pipes. I don't think any tuner here will tell you otherwise. I just wanted a tune to get rid of the CEL, everything else was kind of a bonus.

Instead I got:
- "Launch control" on my MT M3
- Better throttle response
- Servotronic mod (just tonight)
- Euro MDM (from when Mike coded something else)

- And if I had DCT, that would be something else BPM would change. But I got 3 pedals, so I'm good on that front

Trust me, I was as skeptical as the next person. Dropping $1k on anything is not something I take lightly. But I can honestly say, when you pair all these little things that Mike does to the M3 (along with my Eisenmann Race), it adds up and the car feels like an M3+. All you'd need to do would be to drive a stock M3 to compare. It's a pretty damn visceral experience driving my particular car in M mode.

And honestly, what can we expect from this? Let's say Tuner A ends up making 6 more hp than Tuner B. Is anyone here going to fork another $1k to switch? Not that I'm against a tuner show down, but I'm just saying.

Completely agree with this. He got ESS' attention and they offered to double check the tune.

Guys, this is ridiculous... here's me racing in my then STOCK 2009 E93 vs my friend's 2013 E93 w/ BPM tune. Same wheels and options on the cars.

If this is the difference between stock and tuned, imagine the difference between tuned cars.

Enjoy:

I won't mention names but two friends of mine running e90 m3 - one with bpm tune and the other with ess tune decided to race. Both stock exhausts different wheels. I remember this outcome very clearly because it shocked all 3 of us. Any guesses ? ...
Wait for it. .... Race was dead even. 3 pulls.
Yes mike is a nice and friendly guy but end of the day there is only so much you can squeeze out of a stock motor.
