335 >> M3 (2011 JzB ZCP)

Hi guys - I traded in my '08 E92 335i for a '11 E92 M3 (Jerez Black, ZCP) and just wanted to re-introduce myself. To be honest I never got a chance to get active on the boards before but hoping to chime in a little more often this time. Just got past the 1200 mile mark this weekend and loving every minute of it

Mod bug already bit though ... so far I've got the Vorsteiner CF trunk from my 335 (body color w/ CF edge visible), VRS front lip spoiler (body color), painted reflectors, H&R sport springs, RST spacers (15mm F, 12mm R), and tints (35% all around). Next up ... new rims

Thanks for looking! More pics coming soon.

I have to ask, if you swapped out the suspension and are getting new wheels, why in hell did you get the Competition Package???

Very good question, and totally fair to ask I actually fully intended to keep the wheels and suspension untouched when I bought it. After a few weeks I just decided I wanted a slightly more aggressive stance (my 335 was on a full coilover kit with custom wheels so I just got used to that look). Just to clarify I didn't swap out the suspension - just replaced the springs. They have no impact at all on EDC and the ride IMO is pretty close to stock. Figured the springs and spacers were pretty inexpensive and easy enough to uninstall and re-sell if I didn't like them for any reason. So far I'm really pleased with how it turned out (sort of a "stock +" look). I'm not 100% convinced on getting new wheels yet, but leaning heavily.

why did you swap your tt 3 series for an m3? the money save you could mod the 335 and spank the m3 up and down.

maybe he wanted a high reving NA v8, or it just looks more badass,or he got sold on the CF roof but
at the end of the day its still a 335, not ragging on it, great engine. But you could get a CRX swap in a new motor/blower and it can spank gallardos.

Perhaps because straight line speed isn't his only concern in life. Sublime handling, better transmission, and not to mention how much better it looks. Congrats on the upgrade.

I didn't know that changing springs will have no impact on the EDC at all.

How low did your M3 go after installing the H&R springs? Another 1" lower from the stock ZCP height?

Thanks for the comments guys - really appreciate it! As far as the 335 v M3 thread - I'm a big fan of the 335TT and really enjoyed that car. But most of us are probably ADD and like to change things up. The M3 just has a different character to it. I had an E36 M3 years ago and always missed that car.

On the springs - yep pretty mellow drop, probably about 1" in front but less than that in the rear. IMO the rear looks great out of the box with the ZCP setup - I just wanted to drop the front a bit to close the gap without slamming it or interfering with EDC. Hence the H&R sports. So far I'm really happy with the stance and ride.
