You should leave a gap between the masking tape and the painted area that way when you remove the tape it doesnt tear the paint applied, this process is shown on the Plastidip video

This is true, a friend of mine used it on his exhaust tips and after 3 months the paint is still holding up, no peeling issues

Anyone try successfully use it on any carbon fiber part? I am thinking about painting the ZCP spoiler and would like to know how well the paint sticks onto that surface.
And I want to do MR instead of black, which is the only color I have seen from the community. I think that should be the major issue for me to find a matching MR paint. |

I'm pretty sure you can request custom colors from the main distributor, I think plastidip.com or something. TBH I tried it with my outer trim and it does not come out smooth and getting it to gloss is hard. I ended up taking it off and putting back on new vinyl.

So if you mark your wheel, say on a curb, or the tyre shop marks it when fitting new rubber I wonder how easy it would be to fix. Would it be a case of peeling the whole wheel or could the damaged section be re-sprayed?

You have to do the whole wheel, doesnt come out good just re-spraying the damaged section, it will show a different color tone

If you are planning on doing your rims, I used a deck of cards to prevent it from going onto the tires.

Yeah it does! Oddly enough I just removed mine yesterday lol! (I get bored easily
Took some time btw so be prepared if you decide to remove it. I actually left it on the inner hub and it looks badass (and hides brake dust!) Anyway, I've got a nice sunburn on my back now thanks to about 5 hours of removal. :-/ |

I've been wondering if you get pulled over and recieve a ticket, could you get out of it based on color of car... whatever color it really is? haha
This obviously applies to vinyl wraps as well. |

When doing emblems (assuming on the car), and there are spaces where the paint comes through between letters/numbers/etc, how do you peel JUST the little triangle of plastidip out without:
1) pulling the finish off the emblem itself or 2) scratching your paint to get a corner lifted How do you even get the peel started when the space is dime sized or less? |

2. I like to use a q-tip with a bit of latex glove stretched over the end or a toothpick for really tight areas. |
