i did not say it does not work. a m3 e30 also still works. but i doubt you will win any rallye with this car in nowadays. development goes on...
It doesn't matter who the photo is from, the ramps are from Drexler.
The M3 E30 may not win any rallies in nowaday but if it had those ramps it means it works.

correct! drexler has the ramps pictured (45/30°). i also have them in stock in standard and also lightweight version... if one wants them!

i am not sure if you got me right in my last posts?! i did not say a 30° ramp does not work! it does! ... but in a way i would not say is any close to working "good".

bmw used the gkn viscolok units in ten thousands of e46, e85, e60 and e92 m cars. so one could also say: "this means it works" ;-)
and yes, they work... in one way or another...

so in the end... what are you looking for: something that works? something that is quite ok and a bit better then before? something that is really good? or you want the best?
i am looking for and selling the last two options only ;-)

I understood you correctly, what is not clear to me is why you should not use 30° and since I do not have an answer to that question I will make ramps with almost all possible configurations to understand which one works best for my driving style.

I'm not looking to show off my carbon discs on Instagram, I'm looking for effectiveness and to make the car as fast as possible on mountain roads.

great idea!
this is exactly what i did the last 13 years... testing and building more then 2.000 lsd cores and not just rely on other people and what they post in social media!

Driftflo, have you ever had experience with Carbon-fiber Driveshafts? Any advice?

no! i cannot say anything about these shafts.
i do concentrate on lsd setups and bmw rear axle diffs (and everything inside them). i cannot contribute too much on anything outside the diff, tbh.

Having read this entire thread I'm after some advice if possible although it isn't related to a e9x M3.

I recently bought a Z4 3.0 Coupe which will be used on track and road. It has an open diff at the moment and can brake late into corners on track without upsetting the rear end. Obviously, it isn't as powerful as the M3 with only 265ps and 315nm.

I'd like to be able to steer the car from the rear more but not induce more understeer mid-corner or under-braking

Which would you say would be a better option on track for the ZF unit?
30/60 4 clutch packs
37.5/60 4 clutch packs
30/60 3 clutch packs

Also would you advise a small amount of preload or none at all?

Hope you don't mind the questions, as people have said, this can get confusing.

again: i would not suggest 30° ramps, i would not suggest uneven clutch amounts... (and i would avoid shops that do offer this)!
i'd use a certain amount of preload that fits the application of the car but therefore you need special belleville washers different from the oem ones. but if these washers are of bad quality this can lead to massive problems as well. so it is not just a certain setup that is good or bad but the complete "package" must be good and high quality. plus the correct assembly clearance.
