Rennline MAGSAFE charging set up

So I’m thinking of getting a Rennline MAGSAFE charging station & mount set up in the M3 and since I’m not much of an electrician, need some wiring advice.

I will be installing a CiC box and MMI, etc. and while I’ll have the dash apart, I’d like to somehow run the MagSafe charging USB cable tucked away. I think I would somehow need to hide behind the center or lower console with an added USB port and I don’t know if wiring that up to the leads of the cigarette lighter, or converting that to a dual USB plug would be smart.

Normally only items that would run off that terminal would be the MagSafe charger and a plug in radar detector. My big question is would those two items over load the circuit and blow the fuse?

What other way can I run separate hidden USB so I can run the MagSafe cable to it?

Thanks for any ideas or diagrams too.

You should be more than fine. The highest level of magsafe charging is around 2.5 amps (25 watts, spec goes higher but apple limits to 25w), and a cigarette lighter is typically 10 amps. (120 watts)

There's no way that I see a radar detector pulling more than 7.5 amps. It would be a fraction of that.

Also consider if the radar detector normally runs of a standard USB 2.0 port, those things are 0.5 amps max. (2.5W)

Excellent, now to figure out the wiring and routing on how to make it look clean and functional! Thanks for the inputs.
