Bovee Tune2Air with Spotify

I bought a Bovee Tune2Air WMA3000 so I could use the steering wheel buttons in my M3 with my music on Spotify. It didn't work when I initially plugged it in, I did some reading and found that people had found the workaround with having one song saved in Apple Music.

From my understanding, the way it enables the steering wheel controls is by emulating an "iPod" input even tho it isn't. Apparently this requires there to be at least one song in the Apple Music library. I was able to use a free one-month trial and save one song, and it worked great for a month. Now the free trial is up, I really don't want to switch to Apple Music, but it doesn't work with Spotify now that I no longer have an Apple Music subscription.

Just wanted to know if anyone else has figured out a workaround for this??? I cannot add the "one song" needed to my library without a stupid Apple Music subscription.

Try to transfer an mp3 over through iTunes. I have some podcasts saved and Spotify works, though the song regularly won’t show up on the stereo display, the steering controls work.

Yeah, as above, it doesn't have to be a Apple Music downloaded song, it just needs to be a song on the phone that is in the library of Apple Music, even if you no longer have an account with Apple. Just transfer it to the phone from iTunes if you have an iPhone or a straight transfer if you have an Android phone. Then open Apple Music and it should show in your Library section, then the Tune2air should work fine.

it worked, thank you so much DavesZed Frostynorth

if anyone else runs into this issue, all you need to do is download iTunes on computer, import any MP3 (i downloaded a song from youtube) and then transfer it ON ITUNES to your iPhone. works like a charm
